Wisconsin International Scholars (WISc) Program
For undergraduate students interested in adding an international
dimension to their education
|
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is pleased to present the Wisconsin International Scholars (WISc) Program for the 2007-8 academic year. The WISc Program provides an opportunity for a small, select group of undergraduates to participate in an internationally focused enrichment program while pursuing any of the 145 undergraduate majors that are offered on campus. At no time in our history has it been so important to understand and prepare to be a leader in the increasingly global world in which we live. Problems and solutions cross national boundaries. Business endeavors circle the globe. Environmental decisions of one region have an impact on other parts of the globe. In such an environment it is critical to know about the language and culture of other parts of the world. The UW-Madison has the capacity to teach over 60 languages. Eleven area studies centers and regionally focused programs focus teaching and research in numerous disciplines on almost every region of the world. Five programs probe international activities through a global perspective. Several of the professional schools have international centers with a disciplinary focus. The ways you can add an international dimension to your undergraduate education at the UW-Madison are virtually limitless. WISc will help you to identify the UW-Madison international education opportunities that are best suited to your goals. In this context, we strongly encourage you to apply for this innovative program offered to incoming freshman students. Sincerely, Gilles Bousquet |
